Before writing and starting this, I kept drawing a blank on what I wanted to write about for my blog. I wanted to use it more and not leave it unused like I did back in 2024 and 2023 to an extent, but I wasn't sure...

But then I had a thought... why don't I just talk about my OCs like I've always done? When in doubt, write about OCs! Anyway!!!!!

Say hello to my new (actually really old) girls! Byn Lubba-Run and Jens Odda'hul!

I wanted to talk about my new girls, Byn and Jens! Both are some of the oldest OCs I've had to date, they're even older than the entire Star Quest cast! I've given them a whole new coat of paint (haheheehee) and instead of wielding artifacts imbued with magic, they wield... ART SUPPLIES! That are magical!

They live on an art based planet named Palettia, a planet which is normally full of colour, but lately the colour has been disappearing from Byn's home region of Omia, which is slowly spreading across the region and to nearby regions as well. It's affecting the inhabitants of said regions and leaving everything in a frozen state... Their goal is to find the root of the problem and prevent it from spreading any further while also painting the region to bring it back to life.

Byn and Jens are definite opposites. Byn chooses a paintbrush as her weapon and Jens chooses a fountain pen spear as her weapon. I like to think that their weapons reflects their personalities as well. Byn is spontaneous, impulsive, and a little too confident for her own good. Jens on the other hand is technical, precise, and prefers to think of a solid plan before jumping in to fight. She makes swift actions too!

At the very start of their mission they don't get along, even splitting up at a couple points. Both of them have different approaches and clash, but eventually they learn to work together.

Like I mentioned earlier, Byn and Jens are some of my oldest characters. I've actually had them since 2010 when they were Bubble Bobble fan characters, and made them OCs around 2013 when I created Byn and Jen's Quest/Lost Colour! I like to consider BJQ/LC an early version of Star Quest despite having the cast of SQ for a couple years before, because the goal/plot is essentially the same! There's some changes here and there with the most clear one being the main cast change.

Anyway I really enjoy taking old characters and repurposing them. Giving them a new life is fun!
