An update on the worldbuilding binder!!!
It's massive and has expanded into multiple binders with more to be added
Context: A little over a year ago I decided to bring all of my worldbuilding docs into the physical space. As I mentioned in that blog post, it would really, really suck if I lost all of that.. since surviving two computer failures where I lost everything I'm very wary of that happening again ;;
SO!!!
I HAVE THREE (FOUR - ONE IS EMPTY) BINDERS!!! Full of stuff! Right now I'm tackling the worldbuilding stuff since it's the largest. Also while I start up this project again I'm also taking the time to properly organize it all: adding covers, binder tabs, I might be a little lost in the sauce but it's ok. It's pretty satisfying seeing everything organized haha
It doesn't seem like a lot when I look at each file on a screen, but printed out, it can add up.... I have multiple years of docs saved so I wonder how many binders I'll have at the end when I catch up...
Since I have my own printer now it makes tackling this project way easier. Lowkey I did enjoy having to go somewhere to print out my stuff, but that came at a hefty cost... a cost I don't have to worry about much now. Because of that I was able to tackle all of my docs from 2013 and 2014 plus a portion of worldbuilding notes from 2014~2017 that I called OC Notes.
They were a series of whatever worldbuilding ideas that came to mind and I jotted down on a google docs file on my phone. I had so many files of these that they get their own binder lolol
Also speaking of binders, I recently came across the Itoya SpringPost binders- a fancy binder meant for archiving and these are so cool to me. They can lay flat and they're setup in a way to where- when full- it looks like a book! Not an ad, but I find them really cool. I just wish they didn't cost $20-$30 USD per binder WHOOF. I'll stick with what I have now but damn do I want all of my worldbuilding stuff to be in them haha
I'm not sure if I'll ever show these publicly aside from sharing bits and pieces with close friends to reminisce with, but probably not since these are super ultra mega old and reading them for too long kinda makes me wither. Plus the Cinnaverse is so wildly different now haha. If you wanted to see my current worldbuilding I have a whole site dedicated to it!
