THE NEWSLETTER IS BACK MY GUYYS

So what happened? I had the monthly newsletter Star Letter going from November 2023 to March 2024, but after March, they stopped. I know I mentioned in a past blog post that I felt that newsletters weren't for me, but after thinking it over again, I think the frequency I was putting them out wasn't working for me.

So I'm gonna try seasonal newsletters for the time being! I'm testing the waters with this new schedule, so it may change over time. Or it may not. We'll see, haha!

With that being said I'd like to welcome you to the first edition of the Fall/Winter 2024 newsletter! The Solar Star Post!

So, what can you expect from this new newsletter, now called the SolarStar Post? Not much will be changing from the previous one, but I did want to touch on a few things for each letter.

So let's get into it! Here we GOOOOOO

STORY/PROJECT NEWS!

Star Quest continues updating!! Sometime in October I finished up all of chapter 2, and I'm currently working my way through thumbnails of chapter 3 as chapter 2 updates. Now that the introduction is set up, I can get into the story, which I'm absolutely looking forward to!! >:] There's so many scenes that I've written that I'm itching to draw I can't wait!!!!!

Also recently, I started updating SQ on Comic Fury! I'd been sitting on the url for the comic for a whole dang year and remembered I had it just this month lmfao. So now CF is another place to read SQ if you'd like! As of writing I've scheduled a handful of pages to go up every day until it catches up with the site!

SITE NEWS!?

The site got a whole freaking new layout!!! 3.0 is HERE!! The site has a consistent theme all throughout its main pages! It's hard to put in words how happy I am about the site's new layout. It's been overdue for a new one for a while now!

Currently I'm editing my sketchbook page. I have a giant backlog of art to put up there, but first I wanted to tackle the task of adding thumbnails to all images before adding new art there to help with loading! I'm hoping this helps for those visiting the page in the future with an image heavy page like the sketchbook!

And lastly I've been trying to keep up with my gaming log. It also got a new coat of paint!

ART RECAP!!

A handful of pieces were posted in the gallery! One with the star guardian Hoxi and the star babies Kris and Kirby!

In addition I started the process of creating species guides for the aliens in my worldbuilding universe, the Cinnaverse. I only have Azlo and Piralli done but there will be more! Next up is Twizzle's species. ^^

LIFE THINGS!

I'm currently neck deep and lost in the sauce in the Saboverse(?) since I spent all of November playing through Sea of Stars after having a dream about me playing it. I think I've had like 3 related dreams about it?? lmao?????

anywaY it's a turn based RPG inspired by JRPGs like Chrono Trigger! I love everything about this game and didn't expect to love it so much, flaws included!! I am soooo normal about this game. I've gotten the true ending, I have a little Resh'an charm on my bag, I bought the soundtrack, I'm eyeing the physical switch copy, and now I'm eagerly waiting for my copy of the art book to come in and holding myself back from peeking at the wiki lest I get spoiled about its sequel, The Messenger!

I initially started with The Messenger in October but stopped to play through SoS, now I'm finishing my playthrough! I enjoy metroidvanias, but I'm only okay at them. My death counter for TM is through the roof lmao, but seeing what comes next in the story and seeing how that relates to SoS keeps me going! I've also gotten word about an ARG I should take a look at later on that has way more lore about the two games and the Saboverse??? i'm eagerly looking

I definitely wanna turn my thoughts about the two games into its own blog post soon, so I'll cut it off here for now!
