(I'm aware I'm posting this at the near end of summer but it's still 100+ out where I am, so that counts right ?? haha)
It's summer!!! The days are longer, there's more sunlight, and oh good lird it's sweltering outside
Yeahhhh it sure is summer. As a kid summer was my favourite season mostly because it was summer break time and I get to spend my time playing video games, watching cartoons, or outside haha. As an adult I still do these things, buuut I still have to clock into the dayjob every morning. Blerghh.
Also as an adult, despite the heat, I enjoy the warm weather when it's good enough to go outside.
Anyway let's get into those updates! There's a lot of them!
Star Quest returned from its hiatus on July 25th with the start of Chapter 3!!!!!! AND got a site design change! I did have to find a compromise when it comes to juggling my dayjob and updates, so I chose to change the update schedule from two days a week to one day a week on Fridays! Not only will this allow me to continue to build up my buffer, but I won't fall into the trap of running out of pages to post.

Also... about a week after SQ's return, I learned that Star Quest was accepted into Spiderforest Comics! I still can't believe it, haha!
Aside from Star Quest, I started drafting the first couple chapters of my webnovel, Endaris Flare (previously Endaria). This one I don't plan to launch very well into the future, but it's been fun writing prose for the first time in what feels like years (it's only been like. 2 years at most lol). I'm very much rusty and can't wait to see where my writing style goes from here.
We ball, we ball~
There's been cricket noises happening on the site end right now, aside from some minor edits here and there that are detailed on in the changelog! I added some new characters from Prisma Paintbrush and Endaris Flare to the OC Corner, added some new art, oh and I recently remade the project page for Endaris Flare! Since I'm planning to make a site for the webnovel when the time comes, I wanted to design it around what that site would look like!
I also started up a reading log you can find through the toybox, since I've been reading a lot more lately!
This season there was only one blog post that went up. This blog post I put up earlier this month was about the many story ideas and projects I've had swimming around in my head.
Art Fight was in July and I did participate, repping team Crystals! I was excited and raring to go, I had so many bookmarked characters I wanted to draw, characters I wanted to revenge, I was really feeling up to the task! So, how many did I do?
....Only two. Still, it's better than nothing! Here's the attacks I did do for the event, though!

Here's a handful of art I did around late spring up to now, too! Looking back I realize I drew A LOT. I still have a handful of art I need to post to the gallery and sketchbook, too!

Life has been HECTIC. Many, many different life changes happening all at once has me feeling a mix of excitement, eagerness, but also anxiety and stress. Apartment hunting, trying to find a new car (rip to the childhood car o7), job hunting but in a new city, making tons of "leap of faith" decisions plus tons of other things that's hard for me to keep track of. It's a lot, lol. In short I am simply trying to keep my head above water.
In late July I got a hold of a planner to help keep track of things I need to do now that life is getting crazier. Checking things off does help, much more than just keeping mental lists-- but I still forget every now and then. Things are crazy now but hopefully I can look back on this several months later and tell past me that it's gonna be ok!
Every month I find something new to play, haha. For my birthday in July I gifted myself Casette Beasts and Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley. I was curious about CB since it's a monster collector like Pokemon (I'm ALWAYS down for those!!) and hearing my friend's experiences with it plus seeing some gameplay got me interested. I picked it up to play, suddenly 10 days have passed, the month of July is almost over, and I just rolled credits lmfao. Needless to say I locked the FUCK IN and this was part of the reason why my AF output was so low. Got lost in the sauce.
Also! I'm reading! And reading is fucking fun! I haven't been on a reading kick in about a couple years now, but I'm really enjoying it. There's a lot of story you could tell with a book that movies and games tend to limit. I'm currently reading through the Wayfarer series by Becky Chambers, a series I've tried to read before in the past but fell off of. I guess my brain wasn't feeling it at the time. I've finish the first book and I'm onto the second. Currently I'm about halfway through.
These books I've been reading are through hoopla, which is an amazing service when you don't always get the time to visit the library. I'm glad my local library has them!
Aaaaaand that's it for this newsletter! Enjoy your summer, or winter!!
